The Fight at Finnsburg
It is not clear who reignited the feud between the kings, Finn and Hnaef. J.R.R. Tolkien surmised that rather than the Danes or the Frisians, perhaps it was Jutes within the ranks of both parties. Regardless or who or, what cause, a peace treaty forged in marriage was broken and Danes and Frisians would pay the costs. Parts of this tale are told in a fragment of a lost text and in an episode of Beowulf.
